GET INVOLVED AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
There are several ways you can get involved with Austin Kids Can!
TEACHING ASSISTANTS
Assist teachers in the classroom to educate students in one of our programs:
- Computer Science & Coding
- Social & Emotional Learning
Volunteers commit to a semester long program and assist teachers for 2 hours, once a week. College credit may be offered depending on your school’s academic requirements.
PART-TIME INTERNSHIPS
If you are interested in working with Austin Kids Can!, there are part-time internship opportunities available for a variety of roles and projects such as marketing. College credit may be offered depending on your school’s academic requirements.
Interns will help out with some of the following activities (depending on experience):
- social media
- marketing
- program development
- event planning
- special projects
TUTORING
If you wish to help students on a one-on-one basis, you may provide tutoring services for K – 8 school children of Austin who are in need of assistance with their studies and homework. Tutors will visit a variety of children at their school, at a public library or in their home with parental supervision. Volunteers may receive community services hours for tutoring services.
For safety purposes, all Austin Kids Can! Volunteers are subject to a background check and in some cases may be required to have their fingerprints taken.
